Haier HD656E Dehumidifier Review

Haier HD656EThe Haier HD656E Dehumidifier clears 65 pints of excess moisture in your basement, laundry room, garage, or any other room in your home that is prone to high levels of humidity. Manufactured by Haier, it was produced to surpass the strictest quality guidelines to bring you a quick and efficient way to get things done. Haier has been in the market since 1984, and its 28 years in the industry has made it one of the most recognized brands in home appliances. With offices in over 20 countries around the globe, Haier has definitely become a household name, and this Haier Dehumidifier is only one among their wide range of products that exceed expectations in a lot of aspects.

The Haier HD656E has an extra large bucket that gives longer operation and less effort to empty out the bucket all the time. You can easily regulate the humidity level you are most comfortable with, helping you improve the overall air quality where you need it the most. With less moisture around your home, you get healthier air to breathe in that?s free of molds, mildew, damp smells, and other factors that could trigger asthma or allergy attacks. If the large bucket is not enough, you can also choose to drain the water continuously through the drain connect provided. Should you opt to use the drain bucket, an indicator lights up on the panel to let you know when it?s time to empty it out. The unit also works at a low temperature, saving some energy in the process.

Customer Reviews and Ratings

The Haier HD656E Dehumidifier has very accurate settings, as proven by several users by using a different humidity gauge from the one on this Haier Dehumidifier?s electronic panel. This is usually a problem with most dehumidifiers, with their displays showing a different humidity level than what it really is. The noise is neutral, not too loud and not entirely quiet either. The slightly audible hum is normal, especially for a big capacity dehumidifier such as this unit, as its motor processes bigger amounts of water moisture from the air compared to smaller, much quieter units.

However, this is as far as it goes. There seem to be a lot of problems with this unit?s design, the bucket and its bucket full indicator being one example. Although it is great that an indicator lights up when the bucket is full, it only lights up when the water is up to the brim, which means that removing the bucket to empty it out would definitely result to spilling water all over the floor. This is a very inconvenient set up especially if you have no drains near your dehumidifier that would allow you to have it drain continuously.

A lot of units also stopped collecting water after just a few months. Although the company stands by their warranty, the same problem seems to persist in most units, even in replacement ones sent by Haier.?Click here to read more customer reviews?

Customer service also seems to be a problem, as a lot of users have tried contacting Haier customer service, and not really getting the answers they are looking for. Available repair shops are hard to find, since not a lot of repair centers accept repairs for this model. This means that you only have two options once your unit stops working: have your unit sent it for repairs (which will by the way still cost you some money despite being under warranty), or give up on it and just spend a little bit more for a more dependable brand.
